About the role:
The Application Security team is at the forefront of building security into every phase of the software development lifecycle at Anthropic. In this hands-on technical role, you will partner closely with our software engineers and researchers to ensure that security is a core consideration from initial design through implementation. You will lead threat modeling and secure design reviews to proactively identify and mitigate risks early, and help with continuous risk assessment. You will build tools and systems to support developers shipping code securely, adhering to secure coding best practices.
Your insights will shape our tooling, detection capabilities, and defenses against emerging threats to AI/ML. You'll develop the standards, processes, and educational resources that enable all Anthropic engineers to be security champions. What you'll do
As a GenAI Security Engineer, you will develop and implement next-generation security controls to protect the firm's agentic and human-in-the-loop GenAI systems. Specifically, you will:
- Build and run generative AI (GenAI) security controls for applications and platforms, including guardrails for model usage and API integrations.
- Secure agent/tool-calling and connector workflows, such as MCP or equivalent, to prevent tool abuse and data exfiltration.
- Lead AI threat modeling and risk assessments, maintaining threat models for prompt injection, jailbreaks, tool injection, data exfiltration, training data leakage, and supply chain risks, and driving mitigations.
- Define secure-by-default reference architectures for cloud-native and hybrid GenAI workloads, including network isolation and secrets handling.
- Develop and continuously improve monitoring and detection for anomalous AI behavior and unsafe outputs.
- Lead incident response and remediation for security events involving AI applications and/or data breaches.
- Translate policy and regulatory requirements into implementation, including governance artifacts, evidence collection, control testing, and audit-ready documentation
- Act as the GenAI security SME with other internal Technology teams, Compliance, and business stakeholders, staying current on evolving threats.

Who Weâre Looking For (Position Overview):
Spry Methods seeks a Systems Engineer to support the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Office of Contracting & Procurement (OCP) and its enterprise acquisition and financial systems.
This role focuses on enterprise Java middleware and system integration, supporting applications such as PRISM, Oracle-based platforms, and IBM middleware services within USDAâs hybrid infrastructure. The Systems Engineer will provide hands-on support for IBM WebSphere Application Server, IBM MQ, and Linux-based platforms, while assisting with modernization and migration efforts.
While direct IAS or PRISM experience is beneficial, it is not required. The core needs are enterprise systems engineering fundamentals, middleware administration experience, Linux platform support, and exposure to cloud-hosted environments. The role contributes to USDAâs ongoing modernization, including efforts to transition systems from AIX-based, on-prem platforms to Azure-hosted Linux environments..

- Provide engineering support for enterprise procurement and financial applications (e.g., PRISM, Oracle-based systems).
- Assist with system sustainment activities including configuration, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Support application workflows, interfaces, and integrations with USDA financial systems.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
- B. IBM WebSphere / IBM MQ Enterprise Middleware
- Administer and support IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and IBM MQ in enterprise environments.
- Deploy, configure, and maintain WebSphere and MQ workloads on Linux-based platforms, including Azure-hosted virtual machines.
- Support clustering, failover configurations, performance tuning, and secure messaging.
- Assist with middleware automation using scripting and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, shell scripting).
- C. PRISM 7.6.2 (AIX â Azure Linux Migration)
- Support PRISM and similar enterprise systems across AIX and Linux environments.
- Perform system tuning, patching, remediation, and environment troubleshooting.
- Participate in efforts supporting the migration of PRISM and related middleware from AIX to Linux-based Azure environments.
- Assist with migration planning, runbooks, testing, and post-migration stabilization activities.

- Collaborate with OCP, OCIO, developers, architects, security teams, and operations staff.
